We mentioned the cold coming last week and it has infiltrated much of the Eastern US with just the southern most part of Florida hanging on to milder temperatures:

By Tuesday Morning, even South Florida will be cold, at least by their standards, with the freezing line all the way into North Florida:

There was even snow across many locations today, from the Midwest like Columbus, OH at Ohio State to Kentucky at Maker's Mark:

Flurries were even reported as far south as the Atlanta metro area! Overnight tonight, more snow is possible across the Great Lakes and even southern Appalachian mountains, check out the locations below to see if they get any snow overnight:

Boone, NC

Glade Spring, VA

If you hate the colder weather, we have good news! It will be very short lived as many of the places dropping below freezing tonight will hit 70° by Saturday the one exception being the Northeast which will remain on the chilly side into the weekend:

And next week, fall warmth will take over for much of the eastern half of the country:

As far as significant storm systems go, we will have to look to the West where another potent fall system will bring significant rain to the region late Wednesday into Thursday, including some mountain snow to the Sierra and a soaking rain to Southern California:

Rainy season is well underway across the West and an active pattern looks to continue through the second half of November. Some of that Western storminess will lead to systems working their way across the Eastern half of the country and that is reflected in an above-average rain outlook from the CPC:
